About Maria
MAMA.
The mother of three Franco-American children, Maria is a woman living each day loving her little ones and her old dog, whilst trying to keep her cool. Maria did not accept enough help after becoming a mom for the first time and did not take great care of herself. This led to some serious health consequences, but she was thankfully able to change course, choosing wellness and humility over trying to look like Super Woman. The second and third times around, she learned to look out for, accept, and ask for support. Mamahood is NOT to be done in isolation or with an expectation of anything remotely close to perfection and she wrote Clé bébé to nourish new mothers in need of nourishment and support.
DOULA.
PASSIONATE is the best way to describe Maria’s work as a birth and postpartum doula. Women needing women, families needing more hands on deck, and bébés benefiting from more love surrounding them is just the way it should be, and the doulas of this world strive to make this happen. Maria became a birth doula in 2011 and in 2014 she became a postpartum doula as well, convinced that the postpartum time of life is not focused on enough in our culture.
AUTHOR.
ITo satisfy her desire for a book that included all the pertinent information for new mothers without the overwhelming details, Maria wrote Clé bébé.
